FallsStart is a 3-piece rock/punk band comprised of singer/rhythm guitarist/bassist/violinist Davey Leatherwood, lead guitarist/manager Adrian Cottmeyer, and drummer Jaron Seuis out of balmy Honolulu, Hawaii. The trio recently came together to release their EP, “Our Summer” which brings together everything I love about the punk-rock genre. First and foremost, their sound brought me back to my middle school years, where punk-rock lyrics and guitar riffs were embedded in my mind as I went back and forth to school. Opening up “Our Summer” brought me back, and I immediately remembered why I had become so interested in the genre to begin with.

Heir to the Throne really set the tone for the EP, with somber lyrics that allowed me to envision the story being told. That being said, “love lost” seemed to be the common denominator for many of the songs, which, in my opinion, really brought out the best in FallsStart (I find bands/artists make their best music under heartbreak).
My favorite track had to be the title track, “Our Summer” which just really hit an emotional heartstring for me personally. The lyrics and content are just so easy to relate to and I feel as though other listeners will find the same to be true.
